Hickory Spanish

This is the lampshade where everyone who
comes to the area writes their name and
years of service in the North Carolina Charlotte
Mission. One of my trainers is at the very
top, and I am at the very bottom. My other
trainer is on here twice, and my second
companion was also here. Posted by Picasa

Regional Spanish Conference

This is a picture of almost all the Spanish
speaking missionaries as of September '06.
Back: Elders LeSeuer, Harris, Livingston,
Osuna, Olson, Burgoyne, Kellogg, Larsen.
Middle: Elders Caicedo, Garcia, Salguero.
Front: Elders Rohrer, Garza, Killian, Mitchell,
Whitmore. Far Right: Cesar Marin, one of my
favorite people from Winston-Salem

Samuel Patoni, singing at the talent show.

Brother Beasley

Elder Ball, Elder Harris, Ben Beasley.
He helped us a lot with the Spanish program
in the Asheville stake. We would go to him for
ideas and he would help us to not lose hope in
our tiny group. He's the smartest man I've
been priveleged to work closely with. Posted by Picasa

Sunset in Arden, NC

This was taken at the apartment I lived in.
It was like this basically every night, so it was
pretty cool. I never saw cooler sunsets.

The view from Halcyon Hill

These pictures were taken from my friend
Myron's back porch. He has a nice view, and
a nice rope swing down below that could very
easily kill the unexperienced.

Big black bug

Look at the size of that beast! He's easily four
times as large as Abraham Lincoln! Posted by Picasa

Pictures of missionaries

Grandfather, Father, Son
I trained Elder Mitchell. Good kid. :)

Elders Harris, Olson, Burgoyne, and Garcia.
I trained Elder Olson, and he served with all
three of the rest of us, who all went home at
the same time. Poor Elder Olson. :( He was
one of my favorite companions ever.

These are my Spanish speaking missionary
friends on the day I finished my mission.
There are a few others who weren't at the
transfer meeting that day.

Some of my friends

This is one of my districts. From the left:
Elders Larsen, Perry, Louis, Schmidt, Walters,
Garvin, Thomas, and Harris

Same district, different transfer:
Elders Harris, Schmidt, Perry, Thomas,
Swallow, Ball, Walters, Cushman

Part of an earlier district, but much later:

Marino Rivera

The first person I met in Asheville. He used
to take us to visit people with him every
Saturday. He's from El Salvador, and has a
lot of very very interesting stories. Posted by Picasa

Holy Bible Belt Batman!

Yep. It's a church. I think. Posted by Picasa

The Gherasim Family

This is the Moldovan family we visited often.
They speak English and Romanian and
Russian and Ukranian. They are a very large
family, and the Habitat for Humanity built
them a new house. Mr. Gherasim is amazing
at autobody work, he builds all his own cars
out of totalled cars that he buys cheap. They
go to the Romanian speaking Pentecostal
church in Asheville. Posted by Picasa

Mmmmm

It's another one from Asheville. You gotta
love the clouds over the hills. Posted by Picasa

La familia Rivero

This is a fuzzy picture of The Riveros. In the
back are me, Hector, and Elder Larsen. In
front are Willy, Lucy, and Dora. They are
from Peru. Posted by Picasa

La familia Rocha

Top row: Elder Larsen, Magi, Elder Harris.
Bottom row: Texa, Carmen

This is a picture of Texa and Carmen, (the
cutest little girls ever), after we gave them a
bunch of toys and things to play with. It was
their reward for helping their stressed mother
clean up the house. Posted by Picasa

Adan and Dulce

Left to right: Elder Harris, Elder Larsen
Dulce, Adan, and baby Anthony.

We used to visit this family all the time, and
Dulce would cook for us a lot. I love this
family!

Here's Adan with his son. He's a cute baby. Posted by Picasa

Another sunset, also in Asheville

The sunsets are incredible in the South
because of all the pollution in the air, and all
the humidity. The sunlight really gets bent
all over to produce some spectacular shows. Posted by Picasa
